Acting responsibly

As an internationally operating family business in its 2nd generation, JANSSEN COSMETICS is aware of its responsibility towards the environment and future generations. We are committed to a climate-neutral value chain and the economical and responsible use of resources. As a family business, JANSSEN COSMETICS stands for tradition and long-term relationships.

PACKAGING

Packaging and shipping in particular allow for resource-conserving development. The packaging materials for our premium quality products are sourced 95 % from Europe, while our bulk already comes 100 % from Europe. Our shipping cartons are made from 80 % recycled cardboard, and we have completely eliminated polystyrene as void fill. In addition, our folding boxes and the paper for all printed materials such as brochures, posters and cartons are FSC-certified.

Since mid-2022, JANSSEN COSMETICS has taken a further step towards sustainability: all folding boxes based on Algro Design carton are being converted to FSC Mix carton (at least 70 %). FSC forest certification promotes responsible forest management.

We are also reducing plastic waste: for our professional dispenser formats we forgo plastic caps, saving almost 2 tonnes of plastic per year. Since 2023 we have been phasing out cellophane wrapping across our products, with the aim of removing it completely.

INGREDIENTS

All our formulas are cruelty free. We place great value on natural, safe and highly effective resources of plant and biotechnological origin. We also deliberately avoid potentially irritating substances such as fragrance allergens and colourants — which is why our SENSITIVE SKIN line is suitable for oncology skincare during chemotherapy.

COMPANY

Our commitment to sustainable resource use extends beyond production. True to the principle “naturalness wins”, our new building (2020) features natural colour tones and wood from sustainably managed forests. Inside and out, we use only high-quality, natural materials from regional suppliers.

As a family business, we value long-term, personal relationships — and that includes our employees, who are the heart of JANSSEN COSMETICS. A safe, healthy and attractive working environment is essential. Respect, honesty and trust ensure professionalism and success. Shared knowledge is our foundation — internal workshops, training and development foster this and support more sustainable business practices.

We support e-mobility: charging points are available along with a company electric vehicle. In warehouse logistics we already use only electric forklift trucks to minimise CO₂ emissions.

In time for our major anniversary event in September, we commissioned our own photovoltaic system. Modules installed on two of our buildings will allow us to generate part of our energy ourselves — another step towards greater sustainability.
